Dillicious’ Net Zero Ambition
We asked ourselves: How do we create the world’s first Net Zero pickle?
Follow our story to see our vision, plan and our actions. We won’t be perfect and the path might change, but our direction won’t.

For our pickles in a jar
“We very rarely think about making small changes today to radically change the future; however, being imperfect doesn't mean you can't make steps towards being better.
It's really important for us to be part of the solution. We are already part of the problem, as humans who create problems and as a business. We produce waste, we produce carbon, we produce all of these things.”

How we’re reducing our carbon emissions

Testing Zero-Emissions Delivery with an EV Van
We’ve just taken our first bite into zero-emissions delivery, sending a batch of jalepenos from The Brinery in Melbourne to our distributor without a puff of exhaust. With help from n0de, and a free loan of a shiny EV van from Farizon, we’re road-testing how we can cut the carbon from our freight. It’s all part of our journey to create the world’s first Net Zero Pickle.

Powered by 100% Renewable Electricity
From 1 July 2025, every pickle from The Brinery is made using 100% renewable electricity. We power our site through a combination of:
Solar on-site: Our rooftop solar array directly supplies electricity to The Brinery during daylight hours.
GreenPower from AGL: For all electricity we use beyond our solar generation, we purchase 100% accredited GreenPower from AGL.

Rooftop Solar at The Brinery
Installing rooftop solar at our HQ marked a major milestone in our journey to Net Zero. It’s helped us cut emissions right at the source, reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, and generate clean energy on-site. Beyond the environmental benefits, it’s a practical investment that supports long-term savings and energy independence, making it easier to take action today while planning for a more sustainable tomorrow.
We’re covering about 50-60% of our energy use with our rooftop solar. For our remaining energy use, we plan to purchase GreenPower.

Baseline Emissions
Establishing our carbon emissions baseline gave us a clear picture of where we stand and where to focus. It’s helped us quantify our impact across energy, travel, waste, and operations, so we can make informed decisions moving forward.

Our Net Zero Action Plan
Our Net Zero Action Plan is a roadmap for aligning our brand with a long-term sustainability vision. It brings together our baseline emissions, future goals, and the business case for action—helping us imagine what a low-emissions future looks like, and how to get there.

Partnership with n0de
Partnering with n0de helped us move from intention to action—turning scattered data and early efforts into a structured, achievable climate plan. Their practical, collaborative approach made it easier to actually take action on our sustainability goals.
